Rangnritya - Dance of Colors by Artist Nupur Nishith has been honored with Special Merit awards in the 6th Annual All Women Art Exhibition at Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery in January 2017.
Women artists from around the world working in both 2D and 3D were called upon to make online submissions. This art competition had an open theme, for women artists only and the submission process and competition for the artists began in November 2016 and concluded on December 27, 2016.
The gallery received 890 entries from 32 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dubai, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, United Kingdom and the Ukraine. In addition, the gallery received entries from 41 different states.
The exhibition has been divided into three media categories. Painting & Other Media, Photography & Digital Media and 3 Dimensional Art. In addition, there was an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries comprised from the 3 media categories.The gallery also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art.
All winning entries will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the month of January 2017.
Its worth mentioning that the painting Rangnritya -Dance of Colors has already been sold at the opening of the art exhibition In Flux at Morris Arts, Morristown, New Jersey where it is on physical display till February 2017.
Rangnritya - Dance of Colors is an original work by Nupur Nishith inspired by the motifs of an ancient art form from India, Mithila Paintings or Madhubani Paintings where she talks about the seven colors of spectrum and the joy they bring to life.
