Glass Vase and Candle stand are hand painted in style inspired from motifs of Mithila / Madhubani Art .
The pattern of flow of flowers and leaves are common motifs to the Mithila /Madhubani Art form especially in filling the background spaces and the borders.
With Glass as base, Acrylic was used as mode of paint to highlight the details which is important to Mithila art.

February 7, 2013 - 2:43 pm ·@Bindu Mallela Yes, normal acrylic paints(water based) do peel off glass if used standalone. I condition the surface before painting, then I use the paint meant for Glass (oil based), then a finishing clear paint / varnish. Then bake them in final stage.
