Wine glass handpainted with motifs inspired from Mithila / Madhubani Painting.
Sun motif features on main part of the glass with Shankh and Lotus motifs on top border and base respectively in this creation inspired from Mithila Art.
Moving from my other recent works on glass, I went bit conventional in my choice of colours with Red, yellow(some variations with orange too), green and black for outlines. I have kept it against an white backdrop to highlight the colours on the glass.
Even though this glass has been painted from outside, unfortunately, you can’t drink in this glass since it has been painted on the top too and the paint used in this work is not food safe. Without the border painted on the top it could have been used to drink too. However it can be used as a decor item.
With Glass as base, Enamel was used as mode of paint to highlight the details which is important to Mithila art.
Base: Glass
Paint: Enamel
